LuvTrails and MTB Atlanta partner to make trail donations easy

LUVTRAILS and MTB Atlanta have joined forces to help the club in its trail funding efforts. This weekend was the kick-off of that partnership with MTB Atlanta and the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation ribbon cutting celebration event at Southside Park, Atlanta, GA.
The opening of the Poole Creek Bridge and the new 3-mile Intermediate Trail at Southside Park, in the Atlanta metropolitan center, is just one of several trail projects in and around the city that MTB Atlanta was involved in.
The association’s vision is to eventually connect several trail venues to offer city residents family-friendly mountain biking and multi-use trails close to home.
All of this work is done by volunteers, mostly members of local non-profit organizations. Like MTB Atlanta they are totally dependent on state grants, local sponsorships, membership fees and public donations.
LuvTrails was created for just this reason: to help non-profit volunteer organizations to solicit donations from trail users. In many cases clubs have a relatively small membership that does all the trail construction and maintenance work, while, in the case of Atlanta, tens of thousands of local residents and visitors use the trails, but never contribute in labor or cash. LuvTrails wants to fill that gap.
The LuvTrails mobile app, available on the App Store and Google Play Store, makes location-based micro-donations super easy. By scanning LuvTrails’ trademark green heart-shaped QR code at a trailhead the App will direct the user to the relevant non-profit’s donation page where they can donate anything from $5 to $50 to thank the volunteers for their hard work.
Even in the absence of a QR code the App will geolocate the user and inform them about the nearest trails and which volunteer organization is responsible for its trail maintenance. With one click they can donate to that group without the need to be physically at the trailhead.
The idea is that users of trails donate small amounts frequently wherever they ride and by doing so they contribute to the trails they use everywhere, in stead of just once a year or only to their local club where they ride mostly.
Arrie Rossouw, CEO and Co-founder of LuvTrails Inc, congratulated MTB Atlanta with the official opening of their latest urban trail in Metro Atlanta. “We are super stoked to be one of your trail donation partners and hope to play a substantial supporting role in keeping the trail construction program going for many years to come.”

Soon that green heart will be at many trailheads and MTB events. Contact us for more information, or if you want your organization and trails listed in the App.
