TOP6 Donors of 2022 announced

FORT COLLINS, CO – It is a huge honor to announce the TOP6 Donors of the past year on the LuvTrails mobile app and the Trailcare per-mile donation platform. In the order of the size of their total annual donation to listed volunteer trail organizations, they were:
1. Nathan Forst of Bentonville, AR.
2. James Williamson of Brevard, NC.
3. Tim Basl of Asheville, NC.
4. Kevin Adams of Sedona, AZ.
5. Michael McQueen of Asheville, NC.
6. Steve Friedman of St. Louis, MO.
Congratulations to all of you. Thank you for your important contribution to the work of the trail volunteers in your local community, but also to those in areas that you visited over the past 12 months. It is much appreciated. You are true #trailbosses!
Nathan and Kevin were both on the TOP6 podium in 2020 and 2021, with Nathan as the Top Donor. This year he made it a hat trick on the top step. The local volunteers at FAST Group – Friends of Arkansas Singletrack and We Are Trailblazers owe him a cold one.
Kevin is one of the very first users of our Strava-linked Trailcare donation tool and his local organization Verde Valley Cyclists was one of our earliest partners. He is the biggest contributor to VVCC and the neighboring Flagstaff Biking Organization
The “newbies” this year are James, Tim, and Michael of Western NC, and Steve. Although Steve’s local group is Gateway Off-Road Cyclists in St. Louis, he rides his bike all over NW Arkansas and donated a huge chunk to the trail groups working on the trails in Bentonville and Bela Vista, AR.
James, Tim, and Michael appeared from nowhere in May 2022 during a LuvTrails Challenge fundraising event in the Pisgah National Forest in NC. Tim walked away with the Top Donor Award of that event and just kept going! In the months that followed he donated to Pisgah Area SORBA The G5 Trail Collective Friends of DuPont Forest Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians of North Carolina Asheville on Bikes and Cape Fear SORBA. Now, that is a trailboss!
He was challenged by James and Michael. James was a late entrant to the event, but soon caught up with the leaders and has since become the top donor in WNC. He rode his bike and donated to PAS, FODF, and his local Bracken Mountain Preserve Trail.
Michael is one of Trailcare’s biggest ambassadors. He talked the talk and featured LuvTrails-Trailcare twice on his very popular Pisgah Podcast. But he also walked the walk by donating big amounts everywhere he rode his bike. He visited places where he donated to PAS, G5, FODF, Piedmont Fat Tire Society, Greensboro Parks Foundation, Alleghany Highlands Trail Club, and the recently enlisted Boone Area Cyclists. Now, that is a super-trailboss!
These six and all our donors deserve a huge round of applause (and beer!), because they help keep those trails we as mountain bikers, trail runners, hikers, and walkers appreciate so much, groomed and safe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
